A note about review
Okay so my last strip drew some heavy complaints. The author (and her self proclaimed best friend) posted some nasty coments (which I won't be taking down if you want to look) and I don't blame them. Yes my reveiw was harsh but I never intended to make friends by doing this. My intention when I started was to be honest and reliable with my reveiws as well as be as entertaining as possible. My first review was of a comic I absolutely adore did I give it a 5 out of five no I gave it a three. Because there were improvements to be made does this mean that it's bad? No, it just means that there is improvement that can be made. Now as for the review this from this week as I've already explained to the author I would love to be able to go back and do a revisit and give it a better score because I take no pride or joy out of a bad review. (think about it if you don't like reading it how bad must it be for me to write it) NOw my bad reviews might seem crewl at times but please be assured that I understand how difficult it is to create a great webcomic and I take this into consideration. My word choice is as much for effect as it is for entertainment and a bad review tends to need more humor and have a darker tone because it's not as fun. So with that said. I really don't care if you flame me. It's al part of the territory and I welcome it with open arms. And for those of you who want to know here is my criteria.
Graphics- if it dosen't look good why call it a comic and yes sprite comics can have good graphics if done properly
Updates- if you update on time and consitantly is quite possibly the most important factor of a webcomic and I've seen plenty fail for this very reason
Diolouge- is your diolouge interesting and fun or is it hard to bear
Readability- is it easy to read? Do I have to squint? Can I tell the order I'm supposed to be reading it in?
Paneling- (shhhhh I'm still working mine out) does your layout work for your comic?
So there you have it folks other than the numbers system (which is more or less subjective) that's how I review things. Here is the queue for the next couple of weeks.
This week: When She Was Bad (The one that Life and Times of a Japanese Rose replaced)
Next Week: Nintendo Online (and you thought I ran out of Sprite comics)
Then: The Bride of Vasul
